Born in eastern Bhutan in 1961, Khyentse Rinpoche was recognized when he was seven years old by H.H. Sakya Trizin Rinpoche as the third incarnation of JamyangKhyentseWangpo (1820 – 1892) who helped found the non-sectarian ‘Rime’ movement bringing together the best methods from the various competing schools of Tibetan Buddhism. The second incarnation was the renowned lama DzongsarKhyentseChökyiLodrö (1893–1959), who was the root teacher of a new generation of forward thinking lamas
