Khenpo Tenzin Lhundup comes from --- region of Nepal. He joined Dudjom Rinpoche’s monatery - Urgyen DongakChöling monastery in Kathmandu, Nepal when he was barely 7 years old. Growing up in the monastery, he learnt all the ritual aspect of Tibetan Buddhism when he was very young. Being of sharp intellect, he was selected to join Samye Memorial Institute when he was 17 years old. After 18 years of study there, he graduated with flying colors in 2010 with an Acharya (Master’s degree equivalent) in Buddhist philosophy.

In late 2009 DungseThinley Norbu Rinpoche stayed in Nepal for 3 months bestowing Dzogchen teachings and ‘wang’ including full cycle of DudjomTersar teachings and ‘wang’ at PalriKhandro Doling Gompa at Pharping, Nepal.

During this period, Khamtrul Rinpoche’s son Tulku Pema Garwang and sponsor Kunzang LhamuChungyalpa made a representation to Dungse Rinpoche informing him about Khachoed Pema Woeling Nunnery and requesting a Lopen (teacher) for the nunnery. Rinpoche was very pleased and said that it should be the main DudjomTersar Center in Sikkim. Subsequently in March 2010, TenzingLhendup, one of the top graduates from Samye Memorial Institute was sent to serve as ‘Lopen’ (teacher) at the nunnery. In 2016, he was formally promoted as Khenpo (Acharya) by His Holiness the 3rdDudjomSangye Pema Shepa Rinpoche.

Since his arrival at Khachoed Pema Woeling nunnery over 12 years ago,Khenpola has greatly built knowledge and capacities of the nuns. They are now able to perform most of the general Nyingma lineage rituals and practices. Indeed, under Khenpola’s guidance and coaching, the Anis performed all the prayers and rituals associated with Rinpoche’s funeral. Khenpola has continued carrying on Rinpoche’s activities including timely opening of the new three-year Retreat Center and advance preparations for the consecration of the Yeshe Dorje stupa by H.E. DzongsarJamyangKhyentse Rinpoche.
